Revealing repeat use intention of online food delivery services in Indonesia: what really counts?

ABSTRACT This study intends to explore individual behavior in reusing online food delivery services by examining their satisfaction and perception of other reviews (i.e. bandwagon effect) in Indonesia. The predictors of personal satisfaction (i.e. performance expectancy, habit, food quality, and service fulfillment) were also examined. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework was used as a point of reference combined with the attribution theory to understand how people make causal explanations and use information from others. An explanatory hypothetical-deductive method was adopted by conducting an online survey with a purposive sampling technique targeting individuals who have experienced online food delivery in Indonesia. A total of 262 respondents who completed the questionnaire were considered valid for analysis. WarpPLS 6.0 was used to test the hypotheses. This study found that performance expectancy, habit, food quality, and service fulfillment are significantly good predictors of satisfaction, while satisfaction and bandwagon effect affect repeat use of online food delivery services. In addition, we found that the effect of performance expectancy and food quality on satisfaction is significant for customers who use the online food delivery service less frequently, confirming the law of diminishing marginal utility. Our study offers an integrative framework for understanding consumer behaviors in the context of online food delivery services, which has been partially studied.

Lexical collocation as a discursive mechanism

Some terms are spreading in the research literature with particular speed. In the theory of education such terms include, for example, competence, in linguistics it is concept; the term discourse is common both for linguistics and philosophy. The purpose of the article is to define the nature of discourse analysis in linguistic philosophy. We believe that in research activities, it is necessary not to compile, but to truly integrate, which significantly complicates the task of the scientist: this article is devoted to trying to find possible solutions to this problem. The choice of methods and techniques of discourse analysis is determined by the purpose of the article and the set of tasks. An integrated approach is used: discursive analysis, hypothetical-deductive method, general scientific descriptive method (observation, generalization, interpretation and classification), as well as cognitive analysis are carried out in the framework of this article. The materials of the study are texts selected from text corpora, translations, as well as original texts of various genres of written and oral speech, including texts of classical philosophical works and corpus texts. However, if a native speaker of English (that is, a non-native speaker of French) nevertheless succumbs to the temptation in the European discursive community to denote the Frenchlanguage corpus of texts with the expression "discours académique", then how will this choice be interpreted? As a mistake, or worse, a native English speaker's preference for an anglicism? These are not at all simple questions, and to answer them is the purpose of the article. The perspective of the research is connected with the fact, as it is defined in the article, that the further development of discourse analysis theory becomes possible due to the development of such an applied field of humanitarian knowledge as corpus linguistics.

The detailed term reflects the power of the environmental police

This article aims to analyze how the figure of the Detailed Term can be understood as a reflection of the power of environmental police, among the various instruments that the State has to guarantee the rights of the community in the face of the wishes of the individual. In the same way, it is sought to understand how the Police Power functions, its precedents and why it is used by the State to prohibit actions or curb conduct of individuals, mainly in relation to the environment and its need for constitutional protection. In addition to understanding how the term works, what are its precedents and the way it is used for environmental protection, the same as the Police Inquiry and the Arrest Warrant. The hypothetical deductive research method brings two hypotheses about the feasibility or otherwise of considering the term as an instrument or reflection of the power of environmental police, when it comes to the offenses of lesser offensive potential environmental, besides the exploratory bias, mainly by the bibliographic conceptual review and the legislation applied. With this, it is possible to have a philosophical vision referring to the importance that the power of the environmental police has to protect a fundamental right guaranteeing by the Federal Constitution the right to a balanced environment, and how this power of the police is reflected in the preventive and repressive actions of the State. Accordingly, the objetive of the research is achieved by instigating reflection on the theme and showing that no matter how much the Detailed Term is a relatively new instrument and that it still faces legal debates about its constitutionality, it has unparalleled importance for environmental protection as a reflection of the power of the police. Thus, one can understand that when one analyzes the protection of environmental rights, there is the foresight of coercive acts of the state (police power), both to prevent and to repress conduct that harms the environment, so one cannot disconnect the Detailed Term as an instrument of this police power of the State, since it has the same effects, within its forecast and proportionality, as the Police Investigation and the Arrest Report in Flagrante Delito.

The inductive method applied in scientific research in legal sciences: an analysis of its feasibility in academic studies

For the development of scientific works, it is necessary to initially define the object and the most appropriate approach method. For this, it is necessary to consider the particularities of the universe in which the research object is inserted. Regarding the use of the inductive method, the question that emerges is to know what are the obstacles or limitations in scientific investigation, approach and development of research in the legal sciences? The hypothesis is to affirm that there are methods of approach that are less suitable for research in legal sciences, the inductive method being one of them. Thus, the article: (i) describes the inductive method; (ii) identifies the main criticisms of the use of this method; and (iii) raises obstacles or limitations in the use of the inductive method in legal science research. The study uses the hypothetical-deductive method of approach and concludes that the inductive method is not recommended in the development of scientific research in the field of legal sciences.

Soft skills and the labor market insertion of students in the last cycles of administration at a university in northern Lima

The search for a job by students who are about to graduate from their universities has become very complex because the current market and the recruitment of new personnel in different companies has become very demanding, since companies currently have their sights set on people who are not only good professionals and have technical knowledge, because what is required now is personnel who can develop, providing ideas and solutions in different internal conflicts, to be able to cope with situations of uncertainty. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to determine the relationship between soft skills and the labor market insertion of students in the last cycles of a university in northern Lima in the year 2023. The present research is of a basic type, it presents a descriptive correlational scope of non-experimental cross-sectional design, showing a hypothetical deductive method and quantitative approach. Through the use of the questionnaire of questions, by means of the Likert scale, it allowed obtaining data from a total population of 119 students, taking as a random sample a total of 94 students. At the conclusion of the surveys it was obtained that the Rho Spearman relationship shows a result of .703 between variable 1 Soft Skills and variable 2 Job placement, in turn, the bilateral significance level is 0.01 which shows that there is a high positive correlation between the 2 variables mentioned. The conclusion is that soft skills are significantly related to labor market insertion, alluding that they are important and participate in the labor market insertion process, and that they are taken into account by companies who are looking for new collaborators capable of resolving conflicts and possessing these skills, which increase productivity within a company.

Challenges of (dis)information in Brazilian democracy: fake News and the electoral process

This work dealt with the topic of fake news within the Brazilian electoral process. The research problem aims to answer the question: “How does the growth of fake news disrupt the electoral system in Brazil?”. The hypothetical-deductive method was adopted as a research methodology and, as a research procedure, the bibliographic and documentary method. The general objective of the work is to understand, in a systemic way, how contemporary political communication presents itself, especially in Brazil, as a way of bringing concrete elements so that the State and civil society can provide new citizen education for the phenomenon without there being a reduction in pluralism. The specific objectives were: to analyze new technologies and democracy in the country; understand the evolution of fundamental rights, especially freedom of expression as opposed to disinformation; identify how fake news changes the electoral process. It is concluded that the matter is necessary to be legally regulated with stricter procedural and procedural criteria and with the adoption of measures that ensure that voters do not have their freedom to vote induced by misinformation.

Security of the Internet and online communication has become an essential challenge in contemporary world. Paper discusses different types of cyber threats: cyber-attack, cyber terrorism and cybercrime. Individuals, companies and the states rely their communication and daily functioning on information and communication technologies (ICT). The purpose of the study is to highlight importance of the ICT safety use by pointing to seriousness of the cyber threats. The main methods applied in paper to examine published scientific materials are: inductive and deductive method, analytical and synthesis method, hypothetical-deductive method and method of content analysis. Results of the study indicate need for actively dealing with cyber threats. The intent of this study is both to inform and raise awareness of cyber threats within the communities. Findings of the study contribute to the broader knowledge in research area.

Cultural and structural violence against homosexuality in the labour market: A reflection on the protection of unjustified non-discrimination of workers in the Brazilian legal system

Violence against homosexuals has both direct and structural sides, and many times has a veiled character that affects the performance of their employment contract, making it difficult to access employment, career progression, and even to maintain their job. Throughout the study of Labour Law from the Brazilian legal system’s perspective and principles, this article seeks to investigate what measures can be taken to combat discrimination against homosexuals in employment relationships. Concerning the applied methodology, the hypothetical-deductive method was chosen as an approach. Regarding the procedure method, the monographic was chosen, while bibliographic research, in turn, will be used as a research technique.

Pedagogical Management and Managerial Leadership in the Secondary Educational Institutions of Network 6, UGEL 06, Ate, 2020

The main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between pedagogical management (PM) and directive leadership (ML). The research was conducted with a quantitative approach, basic type, correlational level, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and hypothetical deductive method. Non-probabilistic convenience sampling was applied considering a sample made up of 60 teachers from secondary level educational institutions of Network 6, UGEL 06, of the Ate district. The validity of the expert judgment and the confirmation of the reliability were fulfilled through Cronbach's Alpha (pedagogical management = 0.974 and directive leadership = 0.909). The survey technique was used and through two instruments (questionnaires) the data were collected via Google forms. The results obtained were (P = 0.000, Rho = 0.586), it is concluded that there is a moderate positive significant correlation between the study variables.

Aggressiveness and school coexistence in students of the 6th grade of the educational institution Nº 20595 "José Gabriel Condorcanqui", San Mateo 2021

The main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between Aggression (A) and School Coexistence (CE). The research was conducted with a quantitative approach, basic type, correlational level, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and hypothetical deductive method. Non-probabilistic convenience sampling was applied considering a sample made up of 60 6th grade students from educational institution No. 20595 "José Gabriel Condorcanqui", elementary level, from the San Mateo district. The validity of the expert judgment and the confirmation of reliability were met, through Cronbach's Alpha (aggressiveness = -0.613 and school coexistence = -0.711). The survey technique was used and through two instruments (questionnaires) the data were collected via Google forms. The results obtained were (P = 0.000, Rho = -0.407), it is concluded that there is a significant negative and moderate inverse correlation between the study variables.

Digital legacy: reflections on regulation and challenges in the succession of digital assets

The digital inheritance has become relevant in the context of law, compelling the legal sphere to experience new institutions, namely digital assets and virtual personality. It brings with it various issues, such as a lack of effective regulation, absence of succession planning, and impacts on users' privacy and intimacy. In this context, the research aims to address the guiding question: "To what extent can we develop regulatory and practical approaches to address the succession of digital assets, taking into account the technological, legal, and ethical complexities involved, without compromising users' privacy and intimacy?" The hypothesis posits that it is possible to find a balance between practical and regulatory needs while preserving users' privacy. Adopting the hypothetical-deductive method and a review of scientific literature, it was concluded that it is feasible to enact legislation capable of regulating the issue, ensuring the rights of heirs, autonomy, interests, privacy, and intimacy of the deceased. Furthermore, until such legislation exists, the will can and should be the adopted means to address the issue at hand.

Brazil’s Return to the Hunger Map: An Analysis of Public Policies and Effective Measures for Food Security

The planning and application of public policies in the panorama of the right to adequate food stands out for the development of the food supply of the Brazilian population. However, it is questionable whether these public policies have been effective in contributing to adequate nutrition. The aim of this article is to study the effectiveness of public food security policies in Brazil between 2012 and 2022. Also, urban agriculture is analyzed as an alternative food policy that can be carried out by the population, and contributes to the use of urban space. To understand the country’s food security situation and the effectiveness of public policies in avoiding a scenario of hunger and insecurity, the hypothetical-deductive method and the technique of bibliographical and documentary research are used, together with the theoretical framework in the theory of the cycle of public policies. It is concluded that the public policies developed were gradually weakened, and that between 2019 and 2022, the Brazilian government took measures discouraging the implementation of food policies. Brazil, with disjointed policies, facing the pandemic and an economic crisis, is in a situation of food insecurity and has portions of the population in a situation of hunger.

Participatory Democracy in Florianópolis: The Experience of Participatory Budgeting Based on Law no. 14.061/2018

Objective: Analyze participatory democracy and highlight the municipality, as a fruitful space for the realization of citizenship, through popular participation in public management, focusing on the institute of participatory budgeting in decision-making and the experience of Florianópolis, considering the five years of validity of the Municipal law 14.061/2018.   Theoretical framework: Supported by the theoretical legacy of Paulo Bonavides, the research seeks to stimulate critical reflection on participatory democracy in Brazilian constitutionalism and the exercise of citizenship at the local level. Starting from the understanding that the Constitution and the Democratic Rule of Law in the Brazilian federative model find a privileged space for action in the municipality and, therefore, are also carried out through local constitutional policies, the research considers the need to establish instruments that enable the implementation of participatory democracy, especially when it comes to cities and citizenship such as social inclusion, political participation, and community integration. In this sense, participatory budgeting is presented as an effective means of stimulating popular participation at the municipal level.   Method: Contextualized within the disciplinary scope of Constitutional Law, from the methodological perspective of the study of Law as constitutional policy, this article is the result of bibliographical and document research, with the application of the hypothetical-deductive method, also involving the collection of data relating to the budget participatory in the Capital of Santa Catarina and the analysis of its correlation with popular participation.   Results and conclusion: The standardization of the participatory budget gave greater legitimacy and, in fact, stimulated popular participation. Greater community integration was also noted, observing that the participatory budget is a useful instrument for optimizing the basic precepts of participatory democracy and the Democratic Rule of Law.   Research implications: By analyzing the experience of the Capital of Santa Catarina, it is expected to contribute significantly to the visualization of the potentialities and weaknesses of using the participatory budgeting institute in Brazilian municipalities, as an expression of participatory democracy and active citizenship at the local level.   Originality/value: The research is part of the study of practices for the consolidation of the Democratic State in Brazilian federalism and participatory democracy at the municipal level. The study is relevant not only for understanding participatory budgeting in the municipality of Florianópolis, as it provides support for reflecting on local democracy in Brazilian municipalities, as the debate regarding popular legitimacy in administrative decision-making has been growing.

Freedom of expression and the metaverse: on the importance of content creation for the emergence of a complex environment

This research analyzes the importance of the freedom of expression in the creation of the metaverse, in a context of increasing power of Big Techs in the digital environment. As its results, technical knowledge related to many areas and creativity are fundamental for the creation of the metaverse. Thus, its creation must be democratized. Public policies ensuring ways to access content creation must be developed, and such a democratization must be based on freedom of expression. And limitations to the exercise of such freedom must not be subjected to private interests of huge corporations, nor moderated solely by technological tools. Methodology: hypothetical-deductive method of procedure, with a qualitative and transdisciplinary approach, and a bibliographic review research technique.

Fire Detection System for Urban Structures with Integrated use of Multisensors in Embodied Technology

Objective: Create a sustainable, low-cost and effective fire detection system (FDS) for urban buildings, based on embedded technology, as an alternative to traditional detection systems.   Method: experimental research that used the hypothetical-deductive method, with assemble hardware using the ATMEGA328P microcontroller and the MQ2 gas sensors, MLX90614 temperature and LM393 flame. When building the software, a qualitative model was created, based on everyday observations, associating it with a logical expression; Then, a quantitative model was created based on experimental data subjected to computational analysis using the decision tree method, defining a heuristic for early detection of fire patterns with precision.   Results and conclusions: The suggested FDS had a shorter response time than the red ampoule sprinkler and an accuracy of 94%. This system proved to be more agile than common detectors, reducing water and energy consumption when fighting fires and the amount of resources used to replace affected assets. Furthermore, it has a low cost, making it accessible even at a residential.   Implications of the research: It can be said that this research represents an important step in the construction of sustainable FDS, bringing social, economic and environmental benefits; and efficient due to the use of computational data analysis.   Originality/Value: FDS which uses embedded technology and computational analysis to process fire variables, improves this analysis and allows for more agile and accurate detection, in addition to making the detection system cheaper and reducing the use of resources due to the fire.

Protection of neurodata in the European Union: impacts of emerging (neuro)technologieson the (neuro)privacy of the data subject

The commercialization of technologies that interface with the human brain has caught attention of the international community, as they allow the collection of data from dimensions that, until now, were considered unobservable by the general public: brain activity data, commonly referred to as "neurodata". The insertion of such devices in the consumer market is especially relevant in the current technological context, in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems allow the processing of raw neurodata (inputs) and the generation of decoded neurodata (outputs) on the cognitive, affective and/or conative state of the subjects to which they refer. This new factual reality presents legal challenges regarding the protection of neurodata in the European Union (EU), raising questions as to whether neurodata qualifies as personal data for the purposes of applying the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - and, consequently, as to the nature of information relating to emotions, memories, thoughts, and intentions. Focusing on these issues, this paper aims to investigate the degree of protection that the GDPR gives to neurodata in the EU today. To this end, the hypothetical-deductive method is used, starting from the hypothesis that neurodata is not formally included in the traditional GDPR model of "personal data" and "sensitive personal data". To achieve the general objective, the work is divided into two main parts: (1) the first investigates key concepts involving the subject, to explore the research hypothesis raised; while (2) the second is dedicated to the impacts that the processing has on the data subject. The results show that there is a legal gap regarding neurodata, as it is a sui generis type of personal data, that deserves multidisciplinary and specialized study in the context of emerging (neuro)technologies for the protection of the data subject's (neuro)privacy.

Será a arbitragem um instrumento adequado de solução de conflitos trabalhistas?

The study delves into the Adequate Means of Conflict Resolution, especially in heterocompositive media with a focus on Arbitration, in order to propose its application for the solution of disputes in the labor sphere. The main objective, then, from the hypothetical-deductive methods, of literature review and jurisprudential analysis, what will be debated is the real possibility of applying Arbitration for the solutions of labor disputes, putting an end to the interminable stirs that trigger procedural problems structured and burdensome to the parties and to the State, as holder of the Jurisdiction. The construction of a free, fair and solidary society involves the construction of solid social rights that emanate from the Law and that make these rights effective, reaching a reasonable duration of the process also in labor disputes, considering that salary and indemnity funds have a food nature. According to the final considerations, arbitration, in this sense, is also properly applied as a viable solution to individual and collective labor issues.

Contrasting innovation dynamics of professional-technological knowledge intensive business services in metropolitan areas

Formulation of the problem. The study examines knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS) firms' capability to access, process, and transform information into innovation. KIBS are defined as facilitators, carriers of knowledge, and sources of innovation for other sectors. KIBS play an important role in the production, use, and transfer of knowledge to the manufacturing sector. KIBS activities do not demonstrate a uniform structure within themselves, so a dual classification as professional services (P-KIBS) and technological services (T-KIBS) based on functioning and input has been developed. KIBS activities are concentrated in large cities. Major cities or capitals have well-developed infrastructure, public administration centers, advanced social activities, and numerous research institutes and universities. All of them attract a highly skilled population. Regarding metropolitan city economic growth, KIBS stand out because of their high added value, high income, high innovation returns, and high financial capacity, and they contribute to development. The purpose. The present study aims to reveal the innovative capacities and dynamics of P-KIBS and T-KIBS firms operating in the metropolitan area of Ankara, Turkey's capital city. To reach this aim, Turkey's capital city Ankara is analyzed by using the results of a questionnaire applied to 410 small and medium-sized (SMEs) KIBS firms, 146 of which are P-KIBS firms and other 264 are T-KIBS firms. Methods. In the course of the research and preparation of the article, the authors used several scientific methods, both philosophical and general scientific, as well as specific scientific methods. In particular, the methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and hypothetical-deductive method, mathematical-statistical and spatial analysis, methods of grouping and classification, questionnaires and surveys, etc., were used. The results. There are notable differences between the P-KIBS and T-KIBS firms, considering their spatial distribution patterns and the dynamics of their innovation processes. The spatial distribution patterns of the KIBS firms were revealed. While T-KIBS activities demonstrate a spatial clustering tendency independent of the CBD, the P-KIBS firms prefer to locate within the CBD or its vicinity. KIBS sectors generally prefer to be situated by high-income residents, new settlements, secure and prestigious areas close to large public institutions such as ministries and general directorates. It was revealed that the T-KIBS firms are most densely located in the CBD and newly developing business districts of Balgat and Söğütözü, and in the Technology Development Zones of Ankara. P-KIBS firms, on the other hand, are more widely spread in the Çankaya and Yenimahalle districts. It was found that advances in information and communication technologies have a varied impact on the location selection preferences of P-KIBS and T-KIBS enterprises. According to the research results, the factors influencing the clustering of P-KIBS companies and T-KIBS firms were identified and determined. There is a significant relationship between the innovative P-KIBS and T-KIBS firms and their collaboration with other institutions. As a result of the the study, it has been determined that there is a significant relationship between collaboration, R&D, intrafirm and extrafirm social relationships on the innovation of KIBS firms and also contrasting innovation dynamics related to different classes of KIBS in metropolitan areas.

Influence of the Nuestra Señora de Morcá sanctuary on the social and religious attitude of young people

The study's objective was to determine the influence of the Nuestra Señora de Morcá Sanctuary on young people's social and religious attitudes in an educational institution in Colombia. Methodologically, the research was developed under the hypothetical-deductive method, descriptive and correlational, with a non-experimental design. A survey was administered to 26 high school students between 15 and 18 years of age. The results showed that both the social attitude and the religious attitude of the young students are associated with an index in Pearson's Alpha coefficient of 0.808, given what the religious representation of Our Lady of Morcá symbolizes. It is concluded that the system of social values that the study students manage is closely linked to the effects generated by their religious and cultural roots, which have surely been transferred from generation to generation.

Environmental awareness and consumption habits among university students

The aim of the study was to assess the level of relationship between environmental awareness and consumption habits among second-cycle general studies students at a private university in Lima in 2023. It is a basic research with a quantitative approach, a non-experimental cross-sectional design, correlational scope, and a hypothetical-deductive method. The non-probabilistic sample of 150 students used a survey to measure the level of environmental awareness with dimensions: affective, cognitive, conative, and active; and for consumption habits with dimensions: irresponsible consumption and responsible consumption. The results indicate that the level of environmental awareness "almost always" and "always" is 48,7 % and 46,7 %, respectively, meaning that the majority of students have a good level of environmental awareness. Additionally, there is a significant relationship between environmental awareness and consumption habits, demonstrating a positive correlation in students' behavior with respect to their environment.
